Craft Coop, High Wycombe is now stocking Together Equal conversation cards with proceeds of all sales going to Wycombe Women’s Aid. The conversation cards are for families, with kids aged 7-11 aimed at generating conversation around all manner of sub the cards cover a variety of topics, some fun, some thought provoking and some touching on societal gender stereotypes.
Research demonstrates the power of conversations with this OECD study identifying the positive impact of conversation between parents/guardians and kids. Using this as a starting point Together Equal have created the cards to give small, independent UK charities something they can sell directly through their networks and charity shops as something that raises funds whilst also provoking meaningful conversations that have a social impact.
Wycombe Women’s Aid is a local, specialist organisation that exists to support women, children and young people who are experiencing or trying to escape domestic violence and who are dealing with its effects and consequences. Working from a feminist perspective they are committed to the principles of self-help and mutual support, helping women to make their own choices and decisions about how they want to live their lives. Wycombe Women’s Aid offers access to safe, temporary accommodation, support, information and advice to all women. In 2019 they celebrated their 40th anniversary and renewed their pledge to work towards safety and freedom for all women, children and young people.
